Detox your mind

I read a lot about different programs about how to detox your body. Not less important is how to detox your mind, which actually is to change your pessimistic stage of mind for an optimistic one. Negative thinking is toxic to your body.

Your body and your mind are connected, and whatever happens in your mind, it will happen to your body. Being negative, complaining constantly without hope, blaming others or circumstances for the challenges in your life can negatively affect your feelings, emotions, relationship with others, your mental and even your physical health. “Negative thoughts have a negative energy charge that makes your body acidic. As a consequence, it leads to chronic inflammation and shows up as pain in one or another area of the body” (“Listen to your body and regain your health” by Larisa Sharipova)

Scientific researches show that pessimistic people tend to get disorder moods like anxiety, depression, irritability, violence, sadness, anger, eating disorders and addictions. Pessimism affects the relationship with others. People run away from a pessimistic person. Person who is chronically lonely is at greater risk for medical diseases and an early death.

One theory proposes than pessimists neglect themselves, and that is why it interferes with the resistance of the immune system to heal infections. Some studies have found that pessimists smoke, drink more and exercise less than optimists.

Why some people are optimistic and some pessimistic?. Many factors:

  • Subconscious mind gets programmed in early childhood. If a kid has a negative environment at home, it will reflect the way hi thinks when adult. A kid is influenced by family, caregivers, community.

  • Negative environment that a kid or person live with

  • Genes

  • Habits

Here some signs that tell you may be a pessimist person:

  1. You do not think you are pessimist, instead you are realistic

  2. You would like to be the optimistic one in the group

  3. You tend to be anxious (worry about the worst scenario)

  4. Spontaneity is hard

  5. It is hard to trust someone. Once you trust, you are extremely loyal

  6. No patience, you give up easily

  7. Helping others by expecting something in return. You are suspicious when someone helps you

  8. You get jealous when someone succeeds

  9. Negative comes easier than positive

The good news is that you can change to become an optimist. Here some tips:

  1. Every time you think or say something, try to replace with positive thoughts and words. Every day practice positive language, force yourself to smile more and think positive

  2. Do acts of kindness. People feel better when helping someone. You can do small things like saying something nice about someone, write a thank note, loved note or nice message.

  3. When you are about to give up, take a break, deep breath but do not let the minor setbacks stop your efforts

  4. Be happy when someone success, the same way you would like that person be happy for you when is your turn

  5. Be grateful, practice gratitude for whatever you got. There must be good things

  6. Get rid of toxic people or relationships

  7. Do it by yourself it will be hard, then help yourself by talking to optimist people you know, be involved with leaders you respect or follow them in ways like events, social media to learn from them, read books with different positive subjects

  8. Be yourself without worry what others think

  9. When complaining about something provide solutions

  10. Use all above until you see a change!

Taking care your mind is as important as taking care your body. You are the owner of your body and your thoughts. The way you decide what you eat, the way you decide what you think. The way you want to eat healthier should reflect the way you want to think more positive. Detox your mind and become an optimist. You will enjoy life better and your body will thank you!
